Wrapping Headers

I plan to go with either the Tomei ELH or the Killer B Holy Header. I realize these two options are at opposite ends of the cost spectrum. However, the tuner I am working with recommended the Tomei due to the affordability and continued success they have had with them. However, they had nothing bad to say about the Killer B setup, but specified that a daily driven STI, only seeing occasional track use, should not have issues with a 304 SS header cracking.

This leads to my question, how important is it wrap the headers? This seems to be a large contributor to the 304 SS headers cracking. Is the added benefit worth the additional stress on the exhaust manifold?

Let me rephrase :)

A coating (even rattle can spray on) will provide additional benefit from a surface corrosion perspective. Additionally, a high quality insulating coating will provide additional benefit as it will reduce hot/cold spot temperature differential, which also stresses the material.

Not saying you're cheap, and I understand some want to get a more bang by getting a product to last longer.

If this is a car that will see track time I highly recommend the Swain Tech Coating (on either product).
