If you're trying to get a 304 header to last longer, leave it bare or hit it with some high temp paint to reduce surface corrosion.

 

is the high temp paint good enough to block all that heat around the oil pan etc, won't it melt the under panels also since its really close to it?

 

i think its better to replace 1 item then say a hand full of them due to heat.

 

I completely agree. While I am new to modding performance cars, I am not new to modding cars. I had a heavily modded jeep before this car and always preferred to use the right products and only have to do the job once.

 

Let me rephrase

A coating (even rattle can spray on) will provide additional benefit from a surface corrosion perspective. Additionally, a high quality insulating coating will provide additional benefit as it will reduce hot/cold spot temperature differential, which also stresses the material.

Not saying you're cheap, and I understand some want to get a more bang by getting a product to last longer.

If this is a car that will see track time I highly recommend the Swain Tech Coating (on either product).

 

Lol, no worries! I don't think you were calling me cheap. Thank you for your input, I will likely be going with the Holy Headers and Swain Tech Coating... It appears I can order a set on them coated already directly from you?

 

We do offer the coating, but we don't stock coated sets. The Swain Tech coating takes 15 business days to apply. So figure almost an additional month with shipping.
